OXBStudio is a multi-disciplinary architectural firm specializing in high-end custom residential projects. We look to develop a unique method of design for each client, whose desires, needs, beliefs and building sites are different from any other. We balance the client’s requirements with functionality, constructibility and the use of diverse materials to create spaces and forms which are stimulating, distinctive and appropriate.

  • Ted Bonneau


  • Ted grew up in Marin County, moving frequently in his childhood from Mill Valley to Ross, San Anselmo, Novato and Terra Linda where he attended high school. He studied Architecture at the University of Arizona and returned to live in San Francisco following graduation. He spent his first three years focusing on health care design with projects at Children’s Hospital in Oakland and Alta Bates Hospital in Berkeley, among others. The remainder of the time he has spent focusing on custom residential design, working for the San Francisco firms of Aleck Wilson Architects and Mark Brand Architecture, then starting OXBSTUDIO Architects in 2006. He currently resides in Mill Valley with his wife and two teenage sons. Outside of work, Ted’s interests mostly revolve around spending time with his family and also include jogging, boxing, skiing and snowboarding, coaching baseball and watching the Giants, 49ers and Warriors.

  • Chad Stith


  • Chad grew up and attended high school in Orange County, CA, spending most of his free time at the beach surfing. He studied Architecture at the University of Arizona and returned to live in Orange County following graduation. He spent his first five years focusing on custom residential, commercial and hospitality design with firms South Coast Architects, LPA, Inc. and Wimberly Allison Tong and Goo. He moved to San Francisco in 2001 and has worked with firms HKIT, Ian Birchall & Associates, Aleck Wilson Architects, MKThink and Project Frog. Outside of work, Chad’s interests include spending time with his wife and newly born son, golf, running, skiing, patio dining, Hair Nation on XM radio and frequent visits to the wine country. He currently resides in Mill Valley with his wife and son.

  • Ira Potekhina


  • Ira studied Architecture and City Planning at UC Berkeley after which she worked at architecture firms in both Northern and Southern California. She has specialized in residential design spanning the areas of single-family homes to large scale multi-family buildings, and has managed projects from early design through construction phases. But Ira’s true passion has always been the creative field of custom residential building and design, which she has practiced at OXB Studio since 2018.
    Ira brings not only a unique perspective on design given her upbringing in Russia, but also strives to deliver a tailored experience to each client making sure that their needs and wishes for their home are fulfilled. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing with the cat, and working on restoring and updating her small sailboat, on which she plans to live once the project is complete. In the meantime, she enjoys sailing on the bay and along the Northern California coast.
